Michael Loberg

Barrister & Solicitor

Michael Loberg practices in the areas of estate planning, trust and estate litigation, commercial litigation and dispute resolution, insolvency and restructuring.

Graduating from the University of Alberta Faculty of Law in 1998, Michael was admitted as a Barrister & Solicitor in Alberta in 1999, an Attorney-at-Law in the Cayman Islands in 2006, and a Solicitor of the High Court of England & Wales in 2008 (active in Alberta only).

Michael’s international litigation representations include complex multi-jurisdictional trusts litigation and commercial litigation with particular emphasis on financial, securities and derivatives litigation, corporate and partnership litigation, fraud recovery and related remedies, international and domestic enforcement of judgments, and dealing with related recovery issues.

Michael has earned Advanced Certificates in the following areas:
Trust Creation: Law and Practice;
Company Law and Practice;
Trust Administration and Accounts; and
Trustee Investment and Financial Appraisal.

Michael has been awarded the "STEP Diploma in International Trust Management  - Worldwide" and is thereby entitled to full membership in STEP.

Melodi E. Ulku

Barrister & Solicitor
Wills and Estates Practice Group Leader

Melodi brings the richness of her diverse international background and education to her law practice in commercial litigation and dispute resolution, trusts and fiduciary law. Melodi has lived in Canada, England, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and the Cayman Islands, and she is fluent in both English and Turkish.

Melodi is qualified to practice law in Canada, as well as in the Cayman Islands (2008) where Melodi supported clients engaged in commercial activity both locally and internationally from those sunny shores. 

Melodi maintains a commercial legal practice while actively pursing a Master in Laws through the University of London, specializing in Commercial and International Trusts Law, and enjoys status as an Affiliate Member of STEP while pursuing full membership through the Diploma Program in International Trust Management.
